I just transferred into the Design program—well let me correct myself: trying to transfer into the design program... I have not yet been accepted, soon though, hopefully— and I feel slightly overwhelmed. The first class day was definitely overwhelming, which I should've guessed it would be since we were given the syllabus and the first project all at once. But that's pretty normal, as I should know. Professors like to give you a bit of a scare. I'm just feel a bit of a disadvantage since I'm a sophomore and have little to no design experience. So, in other words, I have some catching up to do.
Luckily though, we were given a task to explore around the building and find all of the places we needed to familiarize ourselves with because we'll be using them frequently.
First we went to find the Mac lab. It was close by and not so difficult to find. The lab looks sleek and like a hospital, a very sterile environment, clean and slightly uninviting.

This is the GINORMOUS printer we found.

Another computer lab— go figure.

The art supplies shop and the architecture library.

Marvin Shop. We weren't allowed to go inside of it but it seemed interesting. It the wood shop!!
After traveling across campus, we tracked down the art and design library, all the way in the Spencer Museum of Art. While there we physically moved the bookcase (like in a movie) to find Wendell Castle. Once found, we chose this cool piece of art he created to take a picture and admire. What an interesting table!!

And FINALLY, it took us FOREVER to find the common shop. There we saw and viewed the spray booth for spray painting or spray glueing.
