All in all, his process seemed rather interesting though. He talked about the different steps in implementing a design for a university in Germany. First, understanding the project and when needs to be done and who the audience is and the generational differences. So his firm had to create signs all over campus to direct traffic and display the names of the buildings. They brainstormed text, style, fonts, colors, sizes in order to efficiently display the needed information and they settled with a speech bubble style that had the more important buildings in larger letters as well as the lesser buildings in smaller letters. They spent a while doing trials at the locations and choosing places for optimum accessibility and in a place where there was a heavy flow of traffic so they can be put to the best use. Then finally, after all of that they were able to complete the project. Gotzelmann emphasized the necessity of sustainability to create a longer lasting design.
